    Hi Eric,

I came up with the term weak phrasing after noticing many of my clients using language that created a flavor of apology or a lack of commitment to the point they were making. By having them talk through their ideas and then helping them make those ideas more concise, they created a more powerful, direct statement without becoming aggressive or insubordinate. I don’t know that there is a book specifically about weak phrasing and I have listed some possible resources below.

From a communications perspective, here are a few books you might like.

Another point to consider is understanding what you want at work and in life. Many people have difficulty getting their point across because they are unclear about what they want. Understanding yourself, discovering what you want, and leveraging your unique communication strengths will also improve you ability to communicate effectively. Here are few books to help with that.
